A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. ~James Dent

It's hot and humid in Wisconsin today. I feel like this!  Posted by Hello

Stay cool!

Friends are kisses blown to us by angels.

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. ~Albert Schweitzer

Rich or Poor?

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
" It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy ourfood, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us,they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."

Too many times, we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don't have. What is one person's worthless object is another's prized possession. It is all based on one's perspective. Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for all the bounty we have instead of worrying
about wanting more. Take joy and appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!

6-8-2005

I looked out my window yesterday morning and saw this doe coming down our driveway. I took the picture through the window, the red spot is the glare on the glass.

Who knew what I was missing when I was stuck at work everyday?!

Mitzi was sound asleep and missed her wandering around.

Hillary for president?

A quote by Sen Hillary Clinton 6-6-2005:

"There has never been an administration..... in our history more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," she said of President Bush.
"Whether it's the right to organize and be part of the American labor movement ... whether it's the right to be able to be have a choice when it comes to the most private and intimate decisions that a woman has to make, whether it is to protect the environment — whatever it is that we slowly but surely built up during the 20th century, this current administration and their allies in Congress want to turn the clock back on all of that," Clinton said.

You go Hillary!
