Here is what's new with me...

I got a new water pump in my car. Always something.

My neck is killing me today. Ugh. Stupid neck. But my achilles tendon is a little better. Amazing what rest can do :/

I made an appointment to get a hair cut...now decisions...what do I want to do with it??Basically its just be blah lately and I am sick of straightening it everyday. I need to find something I can straighten or leave curly/wavy.

I am in the market for a new doctor. Have been thinking about switching for a while. Now is the time. Doctor shopping sucks. I am asking everyone I know....any opinions??

Football is at Eau Claire Saturday. Jill is going on the band bus. Not me. I might go to the Redbird game...much closer to home.

Sounds like the weather should be good. Yay for Indian summer.

Happy Halloween!

Play-off game #2 is this afternoon. At least today is a home game. It was 12:45 am when Jill got home Tuesday night...ok...Wedneday morning! Crazy. But she had fun.

Monday the 26th was our anniversary. 24 years :)

Got my eyes retested on Monday too. That was tiring. But he said he saw no change since June. I need to go back in 6 months for another recheck.

Had two other doctor appointments this week. Let me just say: ugh!

We already had three trick or treaters this afternoon. Anakin Skywaler, a cowboy, and tigger :) I know I bought some halloween candy, but have no idea where I put it. So we scrambled, they got goodie bags with snickers, suckers, microwave popcorn and a can of rootbeer.

Do I know anything else? nope, don't think so. Time to don the sweatshirt and long johns and go watch the band.

PS A win tonight. next week Eau Claire...holy long road trip? Can we please have another home game? Recorded the band, will let you know when Jill gets them loaded to you tube.

What to hear some thing frickin' ridiculous?
The football team made the playoffs, that's not the ridiculous part- well, wait, maybe, they barely had a winning season...

They have their first post season game on Tuesday night.

At Melrose-Mendora....yah I didn't know where that was either. Its up, east of LaCrosse, north of Sparta....98 miles one way.

Hello?? A 7 o'clock start on a school night. Good Lord, guess we know where school priorities are now days. Do you think they will be home by midnight? doubt it.

However. Band road trips are awesome (so my kids tell me). The music boosters (aka band parents) are splurging on a chartered bus ... I always think its especially funny when the football teams shows up in a school bus and the band has the mega nice coach...hehe. I foresee a lot of tired kids on Wednesday morning. But I guess these are the things that make high school memories.

I just don't get why they can play at a neutral - midway - site.

I had a doc appointment in LaCrosse today

Was the bad mommy and didn't tell Allison that we were coming (know I did a while ago, but she told me she had very busy Mondays...oops)

Got the official results of my EMG (finally!), was pretty much what the nurse told me a few weeks ago. Had a nice talk with the doc, told him every one has been super there at GL, but I need a break. He said he understood. Besides, I pretty much tried everything they offered that I am willing to try!
Before I could leave, he ordered some blood work to check my liver and kidney function, and if that's all ok, today was my last trip up there - unless I have an increase in pain or get frustrated enough to think again about surgery. I told him, even if my insurance had ok'ed the surgery - don't know if I would have gone through with it.

So he sent me home with a prescription, a pat on the back and a thanks (apparently after my first visit with him- he rethought a few things and now has a short patient pain form that everyone fills out on every visit. It's not tree friendly, but does make it easier to notice changes. )

I would recommend that clinic to anyone.

Happy Sweetest Day

I know, it is just a made up holiday to sell Hallmark cards, but hope you are having a good one anyway. <3

Aaron is home for fall break. He brought home his friend, Jim. Jim is from China and usually spends break bored on campus. Aaron invited him to see the farm. Now he is bored here. lol

Pep band will be playing for volleyball playoff, Tuesday. And if the the eagles win, they will play again Friday. The should win. Volleyball is nice and warm inside, unlike Thursday will be, the last home football game. (They are playing MP and doubt the eagles will see a win)

yay! We finally have an estimate on our roof.
boo! Its pricey. (and no insurance will be footing the bill. we didn't have hail, but pretty much everyone south of us did, that's why the roofers are so busy.)

yay! homecoming week.
yay! Jill and friends painted a window downtown
yay! they did the window at one of the beauty shops in town, so I got a manicure while they were painting. My first real manicure, probably my last.
boo! their window did not place.
boo! Skit night is always painfully boring, drawn out and fairly inappropriate.
boo! the bonfire and powder puff were cancelled last night, but it was as close to a monsoon as I will ever see.
yay! parade is this afternoon, hope the weather holds out.
yay! Jill is going to the dance with her friends Sat night
yay! She is wearing a dress! and yes I will get pictures.!

yay! my blood sugars have been normal enough I don't have to test anymore,
boo! I had to buy all that crap, so he said I could test once in a while just to keep on top of things.

yay! Have my EMG behind me
boo! The shocking part was weird, kinda painful, but bearable. Even though I was there for left side, he did my right side too...to save me another trip later. I don't care how many times the doctor says "it is just a small needle." I am not a freak about needles, but still looked forward to it being over. The pokes in the arms were ok, the less flabby parts , like wrists and elbows were a little more tender. That big muscle just under my thumb - ow! Thought that one would be a little tougher, even though they said that one would hurt the most...they were wrong, that was the second worst. The one in the neck - OW> OW>OW! holy crap. Oh and they he chuckled and told me I was "quite the bleeder"...like it was a good thing?? Probably all the ibuprofen I take.

yay! Friday
yay! weekend almost here.

Jill posted some more music at youtube.

Make sure you check out the "more form JillH1995.

I love the school song that is 31 seconds.
And you can see the new uniforms.

We need to put a new roof on our house this fall.
Roofers are hard to come by after the crazy hail storm in July.
Two have promised us estimates, but no show
One is supposed to come Wed morning, I think he should be reliable. He is the dad of our neighbor and grandpa to the three little boys Jill babysits.
Also having an electrician check things out
(our insurance will be happy to continue to serve us of we get these things fixed by Nov 1 ....nice!..and yes that is sarcasm!)
Actually they should have been done a long time ago, just so easy to put off spending big bucks.
Sounds like the electric is going to be painfully big bucks.
Always something isn't it?

I am thinking this wrist brace thing is making a difference.
Hand/arm pain and numbness is still there, but not as often.
Maybe I am the only person that is excited have carpal tunnel?
If it is ct, it means my neck is not getting worse.
Even if insurance would cover neck surgery, the thought of it scares the heck out of me. God works in mysterious ways...what if they had approved it last winter and I had my neck fixed and my hand was still numb. Finding out it was ct after that, I would have been pist! lol.

Dr Harbst said the EMG would show if it is ct or something else (i think it started with an "R." He wrote a note for me...but I sure can't read his chicken scratch. It could say radial...but those are tires...right? I am babbling now. :o)

Jill has been sick for the last few weeks.
Nasty cough.Runny nose. Sore throat.
I took her to walk in care last weekend, just a virus.
I kept her home from school a couple days, she looked like h*ll
By Wednesday her sinuses were infected.
I called and they said bring her in.
They did a strep test, negative.
And since she is allergic to most antibiotics, he wasn't too keen on putting her on something. Totally makes sense. Save the big guns for the big germs.

UGH

I hate insurance.

Home from the doctor ....again.

I love a man with a southern drawl that calls me a "sweet young thing" - but then do I need to question his competence! haha. He said I try a TENS unit, and/or can try topical pain meds, I kind of like the idea of fewer pills. Insurance will not cover the compounded med, he said it would cost about $40 for each refill...not really that bad compared to other things. The TENS unit would be covered by insurance*, but would have to go through PT for that. I have to let him know what I decide to do. Sometimes I just wish a doctor would say "I think you should...." instead of "what do you want to do?"

He gave me a wrist brace to wear at night. He suspects a little carpal tunnel is aggrivating the hand pain. Gee, that's interesting. And a much easier fix. (I have always said I think I more than one thing going on).

I am scheduled for an EMG. Ruling things out. He warned me this was needles, and I am not allowed to be mad at him if its awful. lol.

My chiropractor talked about this last time I saw him. He said, "Oh you will feel that!" but then he said he was sorry, he didn't want to scare me, they aren't that bad. He also said he thought that was pretty important I have one. I figure if I expect the worst , it can only be better. Gee - I had three chunky babies,4 shots in my neck, and am poking my fingers every day... I can handle it, and if I can't I will swear or cry. :p

Happy weekend all :)
* oh the TENS unit is not covered by my insurance. Holy crap the are frustrating.
